About Burmillas

The Burmilla was first bred in the United Kingdom in 1981 after an accidental mating between a Lilac Burmese female (Bambino Lilac Faberge) and a Chinchilla Silver Persian male (Jemari Sanquist). The result was four black shaded silver kittens.

The Burmilla is an active, muscular cat of medium size. Their coat has a slight lift, providing a plush look which softens the muscular outline of the body. They have striking contrast between the coloured shading/tipping and the sparkling silver undercoat. A special feature of the Burmilla is the shape and green colour of their eyes, along with the matching eye and nose liner which sets their eyes off to perfection. Males are generally larger than females.

A Burmilla’s temperament is extremely affectionate, friendly, gentle, highly intelligent along with being easy going which makes them an excellent companion or family pet.
